Heat five tablespoons of oil in a shallow pan over medium-inch heat. If you are using mustard oil, heat the oil until it starts to smoke and this will remove the bitterness. Then lower it to about an inch and add the fish to the pan. And fry to seal each piece but don’t let the fillets cook. 

The Cooking Time of Macher Jhol:

Add the onion, garlic, and ginger to the pan and cook on medium heat for two minutes, stirring. If the paste is burning or checking on the base of the pan, add a splash of water. Then add coriander cumin chili powder tomatoes and chopped tomatoes to it. Add hot water and cook for five minutes. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes or until the oil rises to the surface and falls into the pan.

The Gravy of Macher Jhol:

Make sure that all sides of each fillet are cooked evenly. If possible, cook the fish fillets in a single layer in the pan as this will prevent them from breaking into flakes. Reduce inches, add sugar cover, and cook until the fillets are cooked flat, this will take no more than five minutes.

1: 500g fresh fish

6: Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

7: Green Chili 2 slit

8: 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

9: 1 teaspoon cumin powder

10: 1 teaspoon coriander powder

11: Salt as per your taste

12: Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Let’s See the Recipe of Macher Jhol

1: Marinate the Fish:

Season your fish with a teaspoon of turmeric powder and salt, keep it aside for about 15 minutes, then start cooking it.

2: Prepare the Potatoes:

Cut the aloe into wedges. Keep one thing in mind the harder you work, the more fruit you will get, which means it will not only enhance the taste but also add a beautiful color to the dish.

3: Heat Mustard Oil:

All you have to do is heat half a cup of mustard oil in a large frying pan. When you see that the oil starts to burn, lower the heat and leave it to cool again.

4: Saute Onions:

Add one teaspoon of cumin seeds to the oil. See when the cumin seeds dissolve completely in the oil, then add the chopped onions. But not resolved.

5: Fry the Fish: 

Add the marinated fish to the pan and fry until the pieces turn light golden. Once done, remove the fish from the pan and set aside

6: Prepare Masala Base:

If the above steps are completed, you must prepare an excellent spice paste by adding cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and turmeric in the same oil.

7: Add Tomatoes:

So now you have to add the chopped tomatoes to your paste and cook until all the ingredients are soft and the paste is completely dissolved.

8: Reintroduce the Fish and Potatoes:

Gently place the fried fish in the pan along with the shallot wedges. Made sure the fish and aloo were well coated with the aromatic spices.

9: Simmer and Garnish:

Add enough water to the pan to cover the fish and onions. Simmer until the aloo becomes soft and the curry thickens. Garnish the macher jhol with chopped green chilies and fresh coriander leaves.
